Turtlenecks are the fall weather’s best friend. Not only do they keep you warm, but they create a stunning fashion statement while doing so. Turtlenecks are the epitome of fall, cozy and snuggly while being light and comfortable. I absolutely adore turtlenecks and this season’s trends are here to fulfill any of our cozy-weather sweater dreams.

ON TOP OF A SKIRT

This trend was all the rage during New York Fashion week; Bloggers and celebrities were spotted wearing loose, oversized turtlenecks over midi length skirts. The combo, yet daring, creates a stunning result. The airy midi length skirts bring a refreshing, light feel to the outfit while the chunky sweater is season-appropriate. Pair with a silken skirt for a fresh look or a tweed or knit one for a warmer combination.

UNDER A BLAZER OR TAILORED COAT

In order to perfect this look, one must opt for a thinner, weightless turtleneck, preferably fitted to the body. Layering solid coloured turtlenecks under blazers or tailored ( very vey well tailored) coats is a look all the whilst being comfortable. The solid neckline allows to draw attention to the collar detailing of the blazer or coat, which is something we often don’t notice as the cold weather causes us to cover up with a scarf.

WITH WIDE LEG PANTS

Who said wide leg pants were disappearing with the memory of summer’s past? They may have been all the rage this past season, but they can totally redirected into the next ; fall. I absolutely love the idea of an oversized turtleneck with a pair of flared pants, especially when the waist is cinched in with a solid leather belt. Not only is this look reminiscent of the witchy vibes fall inspires , but it also accentuates the most feminine part of a woman’s body, the waist. And who doesn’t like to accentuate their waist? The look gives whoever is wearing it an hourglass shape which in reality, is hard to attain whilst wearing warmer items of clothing. If you rather omit the belt, then opt for high waisted pants as the fit will naturally create a slimmer waist.

UNDER A SLIP DRESS

This has probably got to be my favorite look of all. Not only is it versatile, much like the first look I’ve presented , but it also can be taken from casual to chic in seconds. Slip dresses are incredibly comfortable ( as they are virtually seamless ) yet the silky fabric allows for them to be dressed up. If you’re feeling a little more casual, pair the combo with some leather boots and you’ll be ready to take on the day.
